Allergy Testing Services

Hitachi Chemical Diagnostics is committed to improving the lives of allergy patients. In addition to its proven product line, the company also offers extensive service and support with its Allos Reference Laboratory - an ideal alternative for physicians who want to provide their patients with a less invasive, world-class allergy diagnosis when internal testing facilities are not available or when a less frequently used panel is desirable for a given patient.

Objective Analysis
The Allos Reference Laboratory has one function only: allergy testing. Physicians simply submit a patient’s serum sample and select the CLA® Allergen-Specific IgE Assay, or the OPTIGEN® Allergen-Specific IgE Assay panel of their choice.

Quick Turnaround
The laboratory provides request forms, pre-paid 2-Day Express Mailers and serum vials to all its customers at no charge. In approximately three working days, physicians receive a precise, objective analysis of the patient’s reaction to each allergen.

Consultation & Education
Our Laboratory Director, a board-certified allergist, is available to discuss test results, treatment options and other aspects of allergic disease. The lab also provides educational materials and patient history forms.

Split Sample Comparison / Proficiency Testing

All laboratories performing the CLA® or OPTIGEN Allergen Specific IgE Assay must subscribe to a proficiency testing program that will periodically compare the accuracy of test results generated at their facility with those generated at other facilities performing allergen-specific IgE tests.

These external testing programs, or proficiency tests, are available from several sources. It is the responsibility of each laboratory to subscribe to, conduct and monitor the results of proficiency tests.

For your convenience, Hitachi's Allos Reference Laboratory now offers a Split Sample Comparison Program. The annual all inclusive fee, tests up to 36 allergens per panel for two different serum samples at each of three testing events.
