Title: Senior Associate, Business Development

General Summary/Objective

The Senior Associate of Business Development, located in Mountain View, CA, will help grow the life sciences business of Hitachi Chemical Diagnostics (HCD). This position requires active customer interaction to lead Sales and Marketing activities of the company’s products to achieve sales and business development goals. This position will be responsible for developing and nurturing business partners and key customers while creating business opportunities and expanding the adoption and clinical utility of the company’s products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and nurture KOL, a business partner and key customer relationships.
  • Create business opportunities by expanding the adoption and clinical utility of the company’s products in the field of liquid biopsy and molecular analysis.
  • Promote the company’s products, closing deals with customers at hospitals, clinical labs, research institutes, and pharmaceutical companies to achieve sales goals.
  • Create marketing and presentation materials. Coordinate exhibitions, tradeshows, and presentations at conferences, seminars and meetings.
  • Maintain CRM and ensure regular communication and contacts.
  • Help sales operations, including handling POs, delivery, and customer support.
  • Support planning; propose sales and marketing strategies and tactics required to achieve business development goals.
  • Support and conduct market research such as surveys, interviews, and competitive analysis.
  • Work with researchers and other team members to understand the company’s technologies, products, ongoing development activities and future direction.
  • Create and maintain a useful network of contacts with industry related individuals, labs and companies.
  • Perform additional assignments and activities as directed by supervisor and/or company management.

  • Adaptability in various business cultures and environments.
  • Ability to interact, communicate and work effectively with all levels of internal and external contacts, both orally and in writing in English.
  • Ability to identify, clarify and prioritize key issues.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time both domestically and internationally.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry or Business Five years of experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the field of life sciences, preferably in molecular analysis or molecular/in-vitro diagnostic

Physical Demands

  • Frequent use of hands (continuously for up to two (2) hours at a time and up to eight (8) plus hours total in a day)
  • Long periods of standing and/or sitting (continuously for up to two (2) hours at a time and up to eight (8) plus hours total in a day)
  • Long periods of sitting, viewing computer, use of keyboard/mouse (continuously for up to two (2) hours at a time and up to eight (8) plus hours total in a day.
  • Must wear protective equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses, laboratory coats, hairnets, hard hats, face shields and any relevant equipment deemed as necessary.
